When it came to wedding planning, Kara knew that she wanted to have a casual and fun wedding centered around spending time and celebrating with family and friends. Kara and Garrett were married at the Meridian, Idaho LDS temple, and their blue and white wedding theme was absolutely stunning.

One thing we especially love about the Meridian Temple is the bold blue windows. The Meridian temple looks great in every season, and the combo of the ivory stone, blue windows, and bold greenery is especially stunning in the summer. Kara’s blue bridesmaids dresses from Called to Surf tied in perfectly with that. One of our favorite things about Kara and Garrett‘s wedding day was the private vows they chose to exchange during their husband and wife portraits after their sealing on the temple grounds. This was such a special way to incorporate traditional wedding elements with a temple wedding day.

After their sealing, we headed to the home of a family friend, who hosted their open-air tented reception. We spent a few hours ahead of time photographing the girls getting ready and all of Kara’s stunning bridal details, including heirloom pearls and earrings passed down from her mom. From over the top dessert tables to a custom backdrop, and large dance floor, their reception was absolutely perfect. Kara & Garrett’s Meridian temple wedding was a perfect way to close our our summer wedding season.
