Boise Train Depot: Summer Wedding

A Boise Train Depot wedding filled with intentional details, love for friends and family, and portraits overlooking the Boise Valley.

You HAVE to hear the meaning behind Annie & Chris’ Boise Train Depot wedding. They are one of the most intentional and thoughtful couples I know, and every party of their wedding was planned with detail and meaning. When they toured the Boise Train Depot, they loved the idea of the rich history of not only the building, but the property. A place where thousands of people came and went seemed like the perfect place to honor their love story, supported by people coming from across the world.

Annie’s sister is a teacher in China, and her partner is from Germany. Chris was born and raised in Philadelphia, and had family coming from across the country. It was such a special and meaningful way to honor the coming together of two families.

Bliss Events , a Boise based wedding planning company facilitated planning and day of coordination, making the day seamless and stress free.

The Boise Train Depot doesn’t have a great location for the girls to get ready, so Annie booked a suite in Downtown Boise at the Inn at 500, which was absolutely lovely, and provided a custom, luxury experience for her bridesmaids.

I’ve written so much more about this wedding throughout the photos below, but my favorite thing about Boise Train Depot Weddings is the indoor/outdoor effect. There is nothing better than guests gathering just outside of the front steps, watching the sunset over the Boise valley on the terrace. It is absolutely stunning, and an experience that your guests will never forget!

Annie and her girls got ready at a suite in the Inn at 500, a few minutes from the Train Depot. The getting ready suite was SO lovely-I would highly recommend the hotel to any of our Boise couples looking for a location to get ready pre-ceremony.
Annie and Chris shared the sweetest, most intimate first look at the Train Depot.
How amazing is Chris?? He chose his own outfit with his brother, and Annie was surprised. I LOVED that during their first look, they were both surprised by seeing each other for the first time!
My favorite thing about photographing Boise Train Depot Weddings: the stunning portrait locations.

Annie & Chris had the BEST bridal party, with members coming from all over the WORLD! Philadelphia, NYC, Texas, China, and Germany.

Chris’ aunt performed the loveliest ceremony. Chris and Annie chose to have her tell their love story, along with an introduction to each of them for all of the family and friends who had traveled in and not had the opportunity to meet either the bride or groom. It made their ceremony so much more intimate and special!

The first cheers as Mr. & Mrs. Lewis!
Chris and Annie entered back into the Train Depot for their reception and performed the most stunning custom choreographed first dance.

Annie and Chris love shopping small and visiting the farmers market together. Several of their vendors were local businesses they had discovered at the Farmers Market, like Flourish! They loved Flourish bakery and while dating, would visit the farmers market for their cake balls. Annie and Chris were SO sad when they discontinued the cake balls, and Flourish made them special for Annie & Chris to have at the wedding!
Bliss Events absolutely delivered on the timeless decor, and integrated the historic Train Depot benches into the dinner.

A custom pasta bar met guests as the dinner began, and it was a HIT!

Sunset portraits overlooking the Boise valley, the place where Chris and Annie fell in love. How stunning is this wide view?
