Des and Dustin were one of our 2020 couples, and we have loved being a part of their story. We photographed their engagements, wedding day, maternity portraits at the Salt Flats, and now most recently their newborn portraits with baby Rivers.

Rivers was the sweetest baby. I was blown away by how well behaved he was! No tears, no crying, didn’t need to eat, didn’t poop (OK, he pooped, but he didn’t cry about it!).

One of the best parts of our job is getting to be a part of your journey from the engagements photos to newborns and beyond. It is so fun to get to know your family and see it grow.

Des and Dustin planned the sweetest lifestyle newborn session at their home in Ogden, and it was so special to get to see them in their element with their new arrival. The only time Rivers was sad is when he has his diaper changed, or is naked (it’s cold!), so we chose to do all of his portraits clothed. This works great for some families, and other families prefer to do a few newborn portraits naked. Totally up to each individual family and each baby.

Rivers had the cutest outfits-they were absolutely darling, and it was so fun to get to see his little personality mix in with his outfits. Plus, you have got to see their custom nursery. They hand designed it, inspired by a mountain range in Wyoming, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
