Emma and Jake decided they wanted Red Rock for their bridal session, but weren’t able to drive all the way to Southern Utah so they chose the Red Ledges in Spanish Fork, Utah. How awesome is it that you can find red rock without driving to Zion National Park in Southern Utah?? Red Ledges is amazing for bridal and engagement photos.

As I was preparing to travel down for Emma and Jake’s bridal session, I was watching some major storm warnings roll in on the weather. I drove down the night before and there were signs on the highway with high wind warnings and blowing snow warnings as well. I was fully geared up for either having to cancel the session last minute, or photograph in the snow. We planned a sunrise session to avoid the worst part of the storm, and hopefully make it out ahead of time, so as I left the hotel at 6 in the morning, the sky looked really dark. As I turned south on the freeway, I started to see blue skies. I was shocked and surprised thinking we may actually have some good weather for this session! The further south I got, the better the weather was becoming. When I stepped out of the car at Red Ledges, it was the first time in the entire weekend that I hadn’t felt any wind.

Emma and Jake shared the most precious first look. Emma had gone through a little bit of craziness when it came to shopping for her wedding dress. She had actually purchased a different wedding dress, but as the alterations were being done, it just did not feel like it was the right one. So the process of getting ready for her bridal portraits was a little bit stressful and emotional as she was trying to really find the right dress. It is always worth the wait, and this dress was absolutely perfect. It just screams Emma! Jake absolutely loved Emma’s dress and reassured her, as well as their Moms’ and I, that this was THE DRESS. Emma and her Mom raved about their experience with Allyse’s Bridal in Provo who took such great care of them and helped Emma find the perfect dress after all the stress they had already been though.

Emma’s brightly colored florals popped right off with the red rock and sand and it was absolutely stunning. I can’t wait for their wedding in April. It’s going to be absolutely amazing!
